Nāu te raurau, nāku te raurau, ka ora ai te iwi.
Our kaupapa is grounded in te taiao, sharing tikanga through traditional Māori weaving and occasional rongoā healing practices using the native plants of Ōtari–Wilton's Bush. Held within this living landscape, we gather as a community to exchange mātauranga, mahi toi, and whanaungatanga.
Learn at your own pace in our community classes, with affordable and koha-based pricing options available. Tauira begin by learning tikanga and weaving pūtiputi (flowers), kono, and kōnae (small containers). With regular attendance, skills are steadily developed, leading to the creation of more complex forms such as baskets, wahakura, and finer kete.
